Hi all,
my nephew, 4 years old, had an accident and the detachment of the retina (retinal detachment). Here in Italy doctors say that his eye is in bad conditions and they are that it's very difficult that he will be able to see again from his eye.
Even if Italian doctors are very good my brother in law would like to contact the best eye surgeon in the world, if it exists,or the best hospital specialized in this kind of operations before accepting his little son has lost his eye.
Who would you recommend to contact?
Thanks in advance for you asnwers...

Contact Dr. McDugal in Clarksville, Arkansas, USA. He's one of the best in the country. He's an optical surgeon and has a wonderful reputation for success in such cases.

I had a severe eye trauma when I was just three years old. I went to UCLA in Los Angeles, California. They were unable to correct the problem, as it had to do with the brain shutting off, when a trauma is involved. A defense mechanism. have lead a very happy life with just my one eye. Never allowing it to be an issue why I could not accomplish my goals. I made it to Broadway as a professional dancer, with one eye...I wish your little nephew luck. The Eye center is called Jules Stein. I highly recommend it... Good luck..
