I am at my mom's house making a Pumpkin Pecan Pie and she doesn't have any Pumpkin Pie spice. I was wondering what it consists of to see if I can create it. Thanks.

Pumpkin Pie Spice

"This will make enough for one recipe of pumpkin pie. But you could increase amounts to keep a mix on hand. These spices added to a pumpkin pie make the dish as far as I am concerned."
Original recipe yield: 2 teaspoons

READY IN 2 Min

INGREDIENTS
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

DIRECTIONS

Well, you will have to experiment a bit....I know Pumpkin Pie is generally heavy spiced. I would start with about 2 tsp of Cinnamon 1/4 tsp Cloves 1/2 tsp Nutmeg 1/3 tsp Ginger Then mix it up and give it a taste and then adjust the spices. Remember you can add more of a spice but you can't take it out....So go lightly. Cloves are strong and you don't need much, as well as Nutmeg. We like to add extra spice to our regular Libby's Recipe for Pumpkin Pie. Allspice is another one we add extra of as well. Usually about a tsp to a double batch.

Allspice works in a pinch,
I use cinnimon and ground cloves- like 1 tsp per pie, and about 1/2 tsp ginger
