I have a book on adobe premiere 6.5, but i have an updated version of the software which is adobe premiere 2.0, can i use the book on 6.5 to get the basic skills for premiere pro 2.0 or are they totally different?

basic knowledge is very important to working Premiere Pro 2
just notify it:

1) Capture
2) Import
3) Put the Video File into Timeline window
4) Add the Transition or Video Effects and editing
5) Exporting
I Mean concept is same ......
But Premiere Pro 2 have advance and Latest technology software....
so plz learn concept for video editing.......
