Ok, so here is the thing... I promised my husband that this year I would make him homemade Cranberry sauce. I have to recipes for it, just not sure about either. I'm a great cook/baker, just have never made cranberry sauce before, so sorta scared. Well the first recipe has a cinnamon stick and orange zest in it, which I would love to make. The thing is, it doesn't call for water, while the other one calls for water and about a 1/2 cup more of sugar. I was wondering if you had any suggestions on what I should do or If you had a really good Cranberry sauce recipe...If this helps I have 2-12oz bags of Fresh Cranberries and I DON'T have any port or ginger....So PLEASE help..Thanks

For those of you who continue to answer this, the recipe is welcome, but I've already made the sauce. I combined both of the recipes I had and used a few tricks from what people have already said, I still haven't figured out best answer yet. But anyways, the cranberry sauce is AWESOME!!! so sweet and nummy!

Cranberries can be quite bitter - go for the recipe with the water and sugar - but remember, you can still add the Orange zest and cinnamon if you like.

Cranberry sauce is incredibly easy and hard to mess up. All you do is boil 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar until the sugar is dissovled. Then, add 1 bag of fresh or frozen cranberries. Bring it to a boil and then turn it down to a simmer for about 10 minutes or until most of the cranberries have burst. Give it an occasional stir. Then, let it cool.

I also add 1/4 cup of triple sec and some orange zest to mine. Yum!

right here is a few reasons: -it is not very sturdy for you (has incredibly some sugar) -they're basically harvested between Halloween and yuletide -it is not very filling, so it basically seems precise to devour it with a large meal like on Thanksgiving! additionally, cranberry sauce wasn't even eaten in the process the 1st thanksgiving because of the fact the sugar this is used to make the sauce became into maximum in all probability no longer imported to the hot international until afterward.
