i would love thoughts on this from all Muslims regardless of country or sect or anything else.
do you agree that we are all one?

we all worship Allah and believe Muhammad(as) as His Prophet. can we not have our beliefs about the Imams (as) and all else and just call ourselves Muslims so long as they do not deviate from the Quran and Sunnah?

would love your thoughts

asalamwalaikum

ps i am a Muslim.... i do not use the title of either Sunni or Shiia any longer. Islam was meant to set up a community so i do everything in my power to strengthen that community and not divide it. i go to mosques of both sunnis and shiias...and only correct other Muslims when they say something that is against the Quran. **do you think this is the right approach?

It says in the Quran where Allah does not like sects or breaking apart in groups... So anyone who labels themselves thusly are going against Islam.... You cannot pick and choose which rules of the Quran to follow which suits your needs.. If Allah forbids it.. You shoudnt do it.. simple as that...

Q.3:105
"And be not as those who divided and differed among themselves after the clear proofs had come to them. It is they for whom there is an awful torment."

Q.6:159 "Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad SAW) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allâh, Who then will tell them what they used to do."

Q.23:52: "And verily this Ummah of yours IS A SINGLE UMMAH and I am your Lord and Cherisher: Therefore Fear Me (and no other)."

Q.42:13: "......that ye should remain steadfast in religion and make no DIVISIONS therein..... "

relies upon extremely.. A Muslim woman might desire to marry to a diverse Muslim. yet if you consider that there are a number of mystical communities(Sunni, Shiia), some Sunni/Shiaa communities do no longer confess contained in the others ideals and picture of them as non-Muslim, subsequently marriage is seen a sin.. different than that i think of that's o.k... i recognize a brilliant sort of Sunni people who married Shiias and it works only great between them.

waalaikummussalam......

Sunni and Shiia are to seperate believes. i personally disagree with the idea coz Shiia arent muslims anyways. I dont recognise Shiiahs as muslims coz they arent. there is only one Islam not like Christianity.......

The one who doubts in the imaamah (in the manner that the shiiah believe) of 'Ali (Radiyallahu 'Anhu), is a kaafir

Your dream will never see the light. All religions have sects. Its human nature. Each think they are right. I wish they keep it to themselves, why criticize others. If we all leave each other alone, their will be peace.
