I am not hostile to muslims. I will say they worship a false god. That is not being hostile. What I am hostile about is that Christianity gets dogged over and over, and muslims are tolerated even though their adherents fan four planes into major buildings in the USA.

I think you can take any two viewpoints where the adherents are especially committed to their view, and you'll find that the sides become hostile towards one another. You could, for instance, substitute the political parties.

Of course not all members of one group are hostile to the views of the others. The hostility comes in when people are afraid of losing something important to the other group.

I'm not either one--- But... its Because of recent events, mixed with the fact that most Christians and Muslims are very ignorant about the other religion. Mostly its Christians being either scared or closed minded about Islam, when in reality the Koran actually has similar values and stories as the bible and mentions Christianity, Judaism, and Jesus... Its also mostly in American,, were there has been a rise in Muslim hating Christians, that don't know anything about Islam, and chose to generalize all of them into terrorist.. - that would be like hating all Christians because of the KKK, or the 80 something terror attacks committed by Christians in the world,, or because of civilians killed in Iraq, or because of the Crusades, or African slave trade, their hate of anyone not like them, but at the same time preaching peace. not all but some Muslims and Christians, especially Catholics, seem to be very ignorant and close minded.

You are obviously neither a Christian nor a Moslem or you wouldn't say they are equally valid religions.

Actually, the hostility is not between the two religions but between the polititical and cultural empires each has created. Ultimately the catalyst for all this is the Israel/Palestine problem.

Surely that very hostility shown towards each other invalidates your claim that either Christianity or Islam are valid religions.

Not at all.
Just the consequences of some fanatics under political influence. If the religious leaders make more friendly approaches to each other, the abusers of religions will loose their influence. Political leaders meet frequently, why religious leaders don't learn this lesson of peaceful dialogues?

Because some exremists seem to think that the lord will be happy with them if they are hostile to non-believers. I believe this is more so with Islam but don't quote me on that.
