As a Muslim we must admit that we are guilty.. do you agree?

(I believe that what is going on in the media and people not understanding Islam is due to three factors:

1- Ignorance
2- Influence of TV
3- The fact that average Muslims
(like you and I, do not talk about Islam, thus our neighboors pretty much do not get the info out of the horse's mouth)

I think we are letting others show their own opinions about Muslims and we are not doing enough to clear up missconceptions.

What can you do to Clear misconceptions about Islam and Muslims?

(Ps. I do realize that no one wants to be preached upon, but sometimes we do not respond and that is worst than even making a comment or taking action)

Resole the illusions and myths about the religion. Develop tolerance to other religion, and try to study and understand other religions also

I think it can start with something simple like letting everyone know that Islam does not equal Arab, many Muslims do not speak Arabic at home. These are a couple of simple facts that will get the more thinking members of the society question some of ideas they hold. At least this is how it started for me.

I live next door to muslims. Regardless of their religion,these people are the worst neighbours I have ever had.They are disrespecful and untrustworthy. A pox on you and your kind.And before you think that I am an uneducated slob,I'm just as educated as you, and have dealt with many people from mmany different countries.The islamic world is a detestable disgusting place,fit only for semi-slavery.

Well, hon a public outcry from the muslim community over Sept 11th would be a start. Not ONCE have I seen a muslim go forth and say what the terrorist did and are doing is wrong.

I will still say you worship a false god, but I cannot change my opinion that the whole muslim religion is violent unless people who adhere to it denounce the terrorism.

We must be cognizant of the Quran and the Hadiths. There are Hadiths (Islamic traditions attributed to Mohammed) regarding our struggle against the Jews.

And it is given: 'The day of resurrection will not arrive until the Muslims make war against the Jews and kill them, and until a Jew hiding behind a rock and tree, and the rock and tree will say: 'Oh Muslim, oh servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him!' This Hadith clarifies to us the characteristics of the campaign between us and the Jews. The tree and the rock do not say 'Oh, Palestinian,' 'Oh Arab,' or 'Oh resident of the Middle East.' Rather they say: 'Oh, Muslim, Servant of Allah.'" (Palestinian TV, March 30, 2001)

And so, those radicals must be stopped at all costs. They wish to Islamize the western world and will stop at nothing, including murder of innocent men, women and children.

The Arabic phrase is Salla-llahu 'wassalam. It occurs in the Quranic text and literally reads, "Lo! Allah and His angels pray upon the prophet. Oh yea who believe, pray on him and salute him with peace."

One is utterly confounded when the literal and real translation is understood. Why do our Muslim friends hide the real meaning of pbuh? Is it because the Arabic statement is embarrassing since it contradicts Muslim doctrine?

How is Allah supposed to pray to Mohammed and greet Him or anyone else for that matter? Does Allah pray? And if He does, to whom does he pray? Is this passage not contrary to Muslim theology, which teaches that Allah is prayed to but He never prays to anyone else? Or does Allah really pray to other human beings or only to Mohammed, Allah's own prophet? The confusion of this popular Islamic expression leaves one perplexed and hanging in the air. (Dr. Anis A. Shorrosh, Islam Revealed: A Christian Arab's View of Islam [Thomas Nelson Publishers, 1988], p. 179)

And they provide enemies of Islam with ammunition to prove what Islam is about.

this is a great question and the answer could be a long thesis. one quick thing i will mention is Muslims need to learn the ways of Hollywood and start making positive films about Islam. Movies play such an important role in the shaping of people's views, yet Muslims presence is absent from the Hollywood scene. InshaAllah, that is where i am going to focus my schooling in and hopefully work toward making good Hollywood style films about true Islamic history and stories.

But have you actually read Quran from your heart? Have u given heed to the narratives about Prophet Muhammad from the authors of his time?

Why do terrorists swear by the Quran in the name of 'Allah' and commit such heinous crimes against humanity?

(S.A.W). He is wrongly iterpreting it. the word Sallo - means praise and appreciation... it cannot be taken as pray. How you can stop such stupidity!!!

They are misguiding people and creating Evil. They don't know!! God shall misguide them forever!
