Many of my Christian friends, when I tell them about Islam's permission to have four wives, have jumped up and said: Where do I sign up? I know they are joking, but they will say it over and over again. And someone once told me, when you say something once, it's a joke, but if you say it twice or thrice, it's no longer a joke.

Yes there is a rule In Islam saying Muslim man can marry up to 4 women B U T... i repeat B U T its not as easy as it seems. All His wives need to have each of their own home. They are forbiden to stay under 1 roof. The husband must take turn to sleep with all his wives individually and thats the rule. He have to plan his weekly scheduale to visit each of his wife. Its not an easy task for ordinary man. Every women he married MUST be treated equally. Islam says if man can't handle 2 women than just 1 is enough for him.

His 1st wife MUST agree for the 2nd women for him to get married. If She don't agree then that marriege cannot happen. That also goes on to 3rd. Both wives MUST agree then it can happen.

Usually for man to marry 2nd wife is quite rare. It happen unless if there is a valid reason such as his 1st wife can't bare a child so he need a second wife for him to have a child. That is the only case that i've have seen. Still the house rules still applies. and the 1st must agree on that marriege.

Hope that help.

Not in the slightest for 2 reasons. The first one is that I know from past experience that I will make one of them angry and I wont know why. Now there will be four people that are mad at me, and being outnumbered, I can't imaging even getting the sofa for the night.

The only way that polygamy would work is if the women where not equal to me. One to one partnership allows for equality. 4 to 1 could never be equal, the women would have to have fewer rights than me.

There are billions of muslims worldwide.. The practice of multiple wives is rare and far between... There are strict guidelines in the Quran that God set out.. You must treat them equally and fair.. Support them completely equally and house them seperately.. There also is a statement from God, take 1 up to 4, but God knows best and God knows you cannot be equal, so only take 1..... therefore 99.99999999% of all muslim men only take 1...
Have you even been to a muslim country... .. You know.. its legal for muslims to marry up to 4 women, but remarkably they choose only 1 and are faithful, where as. in Christianity, you only have 1, but are unfaithful and have multiple affairs... So who is better?... 60% divorce rate in USA alone..

In this case...no, not envious. Did you think of the 4 mother in laws?

One woman is enough for me and that seems too much at times.
With my luck, their menstral cycles will be one right after the other so I'd deal with PMS every day of the year.

They COULD have 4 wives, but are they financially cabable of supporting them & their children? Are tehy able to treat them all equally? If not, then a Muslim should marry just one.

If you believe in Jesus Christ, he will guide you into the truth.

Read the verse from the Holy Bible

1Cr 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

1Cr 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

Jhn 3:15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

May God bless you and reveal his will in you. In Jesus name. Amen
