If islam was so violent as some like to claim then every freaking country with muslims in would hav been in war!
Why don't those ppl just try to learn about islam with an open mind?

Because Islam has some bad apples, that is why. What other "religion" would brainwash its people to run four airplanes into major buildings for "allah" to get virgins when they die and go to "heaven"
Yes, not all Muslims agree, but NONE of them are speaking OUT AGAINST it. I speak out every time I can about how wrong bombing abortion clinics is.

in America, we are scared of things we don't understand, and since, most of the the people in our 'christian' society are too ignorant to actually learn about Islam, they just assume things and take what they see on TV as fact. Also they are scared of Islam because of the recent war, not realizing that the terrorist are a very small group, and only a faction of the world's Muslim population. Most America's are closed minded, and find comfort in hating others. Also people seem to forget about the many violent periods in Christian history, as if Islam is the only religion that has ever been misinterpreted by a few people and use to justify violence.

The media portrays muslims as evil so this is all Islam-uneducated people know. One of my best friends is muslim and I love her and her family's peaceful ways. Real muslims are taught to be peaceful, humble and kind. I admire that. And I don't have to be muslim to do it. But people shouldn't be forced to learn about Islam that's not fair. But they should know that most muslims are not like how they are portrayed in the media.

Have you seen the news, all we get to see is the burning cars, the killing and how they are divided into many religious faction. The protest and the burning of flags. What other impression should that give of the Arab peoples, and their Muslim religion Terror does not give an impression of Peace. Would you like to change that image? Then do something about it. Tell us what you are grateful for on this Thanksgiving Day

Fire-bombing embassies, burning flags & pictures, cutting off people's heads, suppressing women's rights, bombing Israeli civilians, flying planes into skyscrapers, calling for the death of cartoonists expressing freedom of speech - all done in the name of Islam
Just because I don't love Muslims for doing what they do doesn't mean I've got a closed mind. You may think it's wonderful but whne you cut to the bone everyone knows...
I understand Islam perfectly. Why is it that you think people who think Islam is violent don't understand. Maybe they do and you don't? Ever think about that?
I've no religion so you can't say I'm only saying this because I'm pro-Christian.

In my opinion, they don't want to understand Islam because of the nature that it has been pictured to the mind of people of different faith. Couple the fact that terrorism in this modern day are attributed to the Muslim extremists. Didn't you notice why they don't show the same aversion towards other faiths, let say a catholic to bud dist or christian to Hindu?
I have once this unexplained fear towards Muslims. But thanks to some Muslims in this site who tried to explain why they are different from what we were fed from media and prints.

Actually you are looking at the work of a very small group. They keep getting their accounts suspended but they just open new ones. If you check their profile by hovering your cursor over their avatar you will see how recent their current account is and realize that they are repeat offenders. You can tell by how familiar they are with each other about who they are.

I understand your point. I think all this misconceptions about Islam is arised because of the Holy War started by Muslim extremists. I don't think it is very holy though. It is just terrorism.

I am not in the least ignorant of mulims all I can say is that my uncke died on 9/11 He was a fireman who was trying to help innocent people out of the Inferno and that leaves a sour taste in my moiuth. I know not allmuslims are terrorists But I certainly wish that those that aren't condone the terrorists especially their imans.

In the US, most of us are not around a muslim community. People tend to learn about things they are surrounded by. An educated person knows that most muslims are peaceful people.
