Even the parents have their future, but most children think that the parents duty is to care them and they don"t realise that the parents should be taken care of. ( not everychildren)The joint family system is comfortable for both but now a days it is not in many families. The younger generation should think about it. What is your opinion?

Well unfortunately the umbilical cord can't be severed. This is especially true for the mothers. Some ungrateful children see thier parents as a servants to accede to thier whims.Luckily most children grow up.Become regular citizens, and a credit to thier parents.Even better honor thier mums' and dads'

Yes you are true. Parents strive for the childrens success and growth but when parents become old, children dont care them. Todays generation guys and gals should look after their parents and before taking imp decision that can affect their life should inform the parents.
All children wont be the same. There are some people who still look at their parents. Thats the reason we are having rain and grain.

Cheers,
Jay

The problem lies is when the parents think they are sacrificing themselves. Just think of the joy you got when you delivered the first child. How did you felt when he first spoke Mummy/Papa. It made you a complete women. Just think about the time when you first went to see him to his school. The child gives you back in form of love/smiles/ and satisfaction. He makes you a complete woman. So don't you ever think that you are sacrificing yourself. He gives you so much back instantly by way of his lovely smiles and his innocent actions.
Remember if you have given him your best he will make you proud by becoming a good human being. But if you have given nothing more than a casual care and you have kept yourself busy in kitty parties you are sure to get the same back when he grows big and has his own family.

well 100 years ago parents raised there kids so when they were grown the kids were strong enuff to take care of themselves and maybe even help out their parents, but with today's parenting skills its a wonder many kids even make it thru childhood. But the thought of helping out my lazy parents, lol. I'll help 'em c0ck the hammer when they want out maybe. Might even be nice enuff to adjust the trigger pull weight so they do shake too hard and miss when they drop the hammer.
Actually I think Eminem spoke for many-an-American child in his lyrics.

OK, now back to your fairy-tale life there little girl

There's an interesting concept. "luckily most children grow up" I guess that would be opposed to most children getting raised eh?

I think that parents should sacrifice only upto some extent but there should some limit. But the mind will be changed into a grue that even if you dont want to sacrifice, it automatically makes u to bend towards them, it is afterall ur blood relation, u cant say no or u cant be convinced

We have to do our duty as a parent and should not expect anything from them in return. If we are lucky we will be blessed with good children who care for us.

u r true dear. But the way we bring up children is also one of the cause for the current situation.

Apart from that while taking care of the children, parents too should be more practical about their future.

People should have detatched attachments rather than attached detatchments.

it was the parents choice to bring the child into the world not the kids' so the parents should sacrifice anything in their capability to care for their child/ children
