My cholesterol was three times greater than what it should be...Although not recommended i went off everything dairy, but other than a low fat diet, maybe some exercise, all you need per day is a 30 min walk with the dog, kids whatever, or a swim and bike ride. Always eat breakfast! Make lunch your primary meal and a light plate for dinner. My doctor gave me a 6 week plan, before having another needle and it all went well...and i'm not one to stick to plans! But it took alot longer then those 6 weeks and i am all good now. Hope it all goes well for you.

Of course exercise is a plus but also there are some healthy and natural alternatives out there that will help, but everyone is different so not all of the results are going to be the same. I am on one (natural and healthy alternative) and I have been off of my medicine now for 6 weeks but in the good faith of the yahoo answer rules, you'll have to IM or e-mail me for the info as I do not desire to break the rules. Happy T Day to you and I'm going to bed it's 4 am in TEXAS !!!!!!!!

Cholesterol in diet does not raise blood cholesterol since the liver produces less. But saturated fat in animal foods do. The best foods to lose weight are the best to lower cholesterol. See site below.

EXERCISE!!! It really helps. I also take lecithin (from the health food store) and it raised by HDL (good) cholesterol. Nuts are good, they contain healthy fat. They are high in calories, but they are good fats so it is important to add them to your diet.
