My boyfriend of 6 years cheated on me with a girl who has a "reputation". He says he's sorry. I don't know if I should take him back. What would you do in this situation?

I've been there done that and i wouldn't make it easy for him if i did take him back. You need to make sure that your the one that he wants and he's threw messing around on you and if he feels the need to cheat on you again he needs to be man enough to tell you that he wants to see someone else. Tell him he has to earn your trust back.

it's completly situational..I would have to know more, but six years is a long time..I think if i was at that stage with someone and they cheated on me it would be over...you don't do that to someone when you have been together that long..not that it's ok at anytime but when the relationship is older there a lot more invested and there is really no excuse...but ultimatley it is your decision however I Will tell you if it happens again...then do not take him back because he will just keep doing it the rest of the time you are with him...

i am all for maintaining a relationship at any cost, except for infidelity. this is just my personal opinion. considering you've been together for so long, i definitely wouldn't take him back. after 6 years, i'd expect to be married, but that's another story. if you think it's worth salvaging, definitely let it go, take him back and don't bring it up in the future, but i just wonder how come you're not married by now. maybe this is the reason: because he's truly not ready for commitment.

everyone makes mistakes and all but for some reason this seems a little sketchy. it seems like he is just covering his ***. im a forgive and forget person but just saying your sorry in a situation like this doesnt cut it. if you take him back make him work like hell for it

I'd probably take him back, on the condition that if it ever happened again, then it would be over!

I think everyone deserves another chance - but only one!

If he cheats he must be lying and if he lies he can steal. From my point of view If it happens once it can happen again dump his sorry ***

Not unless he marries you this time..
6 yrs is enough time to waste on a boyfriend...

listen to your heart...not what others say...

But this happens to me...so i'll tell you whaut i did.. I ignored his cries.

This also happened to my elder sister with her first ever bf...she went back to him...spent all of his money and more (she kept saying,"show me how sorry you are" and he always give in.) then left him a month after they patched up.
