See an ENT or a dentist you might have a throat infection or tooth infection. Usually bad breath is from infections or from the gut not the mouth. So although you can brush garlic off your teeth if it's in your gut you'll still have bad breath, even if you don't have a nasty burp that smell will lightly waft out.

The worst cases of bad breath that I see are usually due to poor oral hygiene, if you smoke it only compounds this.

The smell is caused by sulphur producing bacteria which if not removed efficiently fester between the teeth and below the gumline producing the sulphurous gas as they bio-degrade (not a pleasant thought I know!)

You need to be sure that you are brushing as well as you possibly can (I'd advise disclosing tablets available from Dentist and Pharmacies to show where the plaque bacteria are on your teeth)

People generally do not brush anywhere near as well as they think they do!. An electric toothbrush is probably better as the heads are smaller and can get in the more awkward spots, you do not have to spend a fortune on one, just go for a rechargeable one the battery ones are useless make sure you step around each individual tooth when brushing.

Next.... Floss or Interdental brushes DAILY this is vital as this is where most of the really smelly bacteria live in the crevices between your teeth, don't worry if your gums bleed at first persevere and I promise they'l settle!

Next..... Tongue brushing or scraping, not as weird as it sounds, a lot of bacteria that cause bad breath live in the crevices and layer of saliva on your tongue. Brush your tongue in long sweeping strokes front to back (or it will make you gag!) or get a tongue scraper from a dentist or chemist.

Mouthwash is limited in it's effect and can actually make matter worse by drying your mouth out, bad breath always smells worse in a dry mouth. If you do want to use one try Dentyl mouthwash which has no alcohol to dry your mouth. Regular drinks stops your mouth from dehydrating too.

I'd advise a visit to your Dentist and Hygienist, to treat any Gum Disease you may have and remove any hardened plaque deposits (Tartar) .

And finally and probably most importantly if you smoke..........PLEASE try to give up smoking, most of the people that I see with severe gum problems that eventually results in them loosing teeth are smokers, It really has a terrrible effect on your gums

You are either suffering from an infection in the mouth, but because there is no associated pain you don't realise it, a digestive tract disorder or a metabolic disorder. Don't waste time and perhaps make the situation worse by trying to mask the odour first see your dentist and if he gives you the all clear see your GP. It is important to treat these sort of problems seriously and as soon as possible as, and I hope it is not the case they can be indicative of more serious complaints.
Good luck and more importantly good health

It dosn't mean that if u brush 100 times a day will keep good hygeine....

The main thing in brushing is 2 brush all d surfaces of teeth for removal of plaque. It needs abt 4 minutes 2 brush all d surfaces of d teeth.

Brushing properly with good technique is more important than brushing regularly...

Brush ur teeth after meals.

Dnt 4get to clean ur tongue after brushing ur teeth.

Use OTC mouthwashes 2 prevent gum infections n badbreath...

Thank u!.....

Its bad breath nt breadth!!!!!!!

I got a tip from my friend to always leave your mouth/lips a bit open (don't always keep your mouth closed) - to let the air in and out (maybe to let the smells flow out).

And you may want to try gargling with plain water, or tap water. That should remove all the small leftovers that may cause bad breath.

Another option is to use antibacterial mouth gargle. Those last quite some time.

Hi, brushing teeth alone won't cure it. I use dental floss in between my teeth and most importantly on my tongue. Go as far back on your tongue as you can and gently scrape the floss towards the front. Do this a couple of times. It is most important to keep your tongue clean as this can be the cause of bad breath. Hope this helps.

Try using some anti-bacterial mouthwash after you brush. You can also buy travel bottles of these that you can use throughout the day.

Also, could it be caused by anything you're eating or do you have any stomach problems?

Eat sugar free mints or sugar free chewing gum. Use antibacterial mouthwash and visit your dentist to see if they can help you. Good luck - keep off smelly foods for a while too and you could try brushing your tongue as well as your teeth.
