Bake to maintain the temp of the oven.
Broil is just the top heat.

lol first of all take a deep breath. It will be ok! We usually have mashed potatoes and gravy (I cheat and buy the turkey gravy in the jar), green beans tossed with bacon, onion and a little garlic powder, corn, dinner rolls, and sweet potatoes. Here's a few tips- If you want the frozen bread rolls, be sure you set them out to rise that morning. The kind I buy takes 6-8 hours to rise. I take them out and set them aside until I'm done with everything else. Or you can just take the easy route and buy the brown and serve kind, 5 minutes in the oven and you're done Corn-throw a few cans of corn or the frozen corn in a pot, add butter, salt and pepper, and heat about 10 minutes before dinner is done Green beans-fry the bacon a little bit first, not until crisp, just until it makes a little grease. Then put the bacon and the grease in the green beans-it's not healthy but this is the holidays, there's plenty of time to diet Jan.1st! also finely chop a little onion in it, add about a teaspoon of garlic powder, and throw it all in a big pot together to simmer about 30 minutes on low. (you need to give the bacon time to infuse its flavor in them) I just use the can green beans and throw the water from the can in there and everything Sweet potatoes-again, I buy the yams in the can (who has time to peel fresh yams?) a couple cans in a 13X9 casserole dish, add brown sugar, butter (I don't measure, just put what looks good) and bake at 350 until warmed. Then take them out of the oven and add mini marshmallows to the top, put the oven on broil and brown the marshmallows mashed potatoes-for years and years I used instant potatoes. My husband taught me how to make the homemade kind. If you use instant, use cream instead of water, makes them taste better

BAKE - cook the turkey slowly to bring it up to temperature.
If you broil it - you will cook the outside, but the inside will not be done - and you will ruin the bird.

Bake your turkey around 350, Remember it's 1hour for every 4 pounds. Sounds like it's your first time. Good Luck. Happy Thanksgiving!

Pre-heat your oven to 325. Do NOT attempt to broil the turkey. I don't think it will fit in the broiler anyway. Good luck.

If it is a whole turkey, you set it to "bake"..broiling is reserved for turkey cutlets.
