I am running Windows XP Professional SP1 and keep getting the above message and that I need to upgrade to SP2. I have ugraded a gazillion times from the Microsoft website but the message will not go away. I have even upgraded to a corporate edition of XP but still no luck. Does anyone know if this is a false message or why my upgrades are not being registered. Thanks

Sounds like you may have a virus or trojan. Some cause pop ups that say things like that. GIve your system a good scan with 3 or 4 differnent types.

Update all the patches using the Microsoft Update.
As u have mentioned you have updated SP2 there might be some security patches you need to install.

The site gave me problems too....
Download the SP 2 complete patch from : www.softwarepatch.com/windows/xpsp2.html
and after restarting things will be different...

I agree with the virus option, and I reccomend getting spyware (it's not cheap)
