There are tons and tons of great movies out there. For scary you could try:

Silent Hill
Saw 1,2 & 3
Gothica
Identity
What Lies Beneath
Dead Again
Haunted
Rose Red
The Others
Panic Room

For funny:

Last Holiday
Wedding Crashers
Get Shorty
Be Cool
Something About Mary
Oscar
Monty Python - any of them
Wallice and Gromit
Mine, Yours, and Ours

A really good idea might be to go to http://www.imdb.com and look up movies by topic or by actors that you like. Good luck.

I recently saw Happy Feet. It was cute. Not that greatest movie of all time but it held your attention and was definitely entertaining. I also saw The Prestige. I highly recommend this film. It is full of twists that keep you guessing and you don't want to turn away. It is by far one of the best films I've seen in years.

I don't have kids, my friends do, so we went and saw happy feet. It was the best movie of the year. It is funny and the famous people who did the voices made it even better. As for scarey, my friends went and saw SAW III and they loved it.

My boyfriend wanted to see "Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit." At first I was dubious. (But he kissed me and got his way.)

It ended up being a really great movie. Funny and clever and completely original.

I highly recommend it.

I saw "Stranger than Fiction" this week and it was good. Funny and a little off beat.
