If one is short of funds, it's a reasonable way to deal with longer hair. However, I can't imagine a lady not wanting to present a softer, more feminine image now and then. Why don't you visit a beautician and a hairdresser and see whether you can improve your looks and your self-confidence through a new 'do and some modest makeup? And by the way - why is your atavar a male image?

Snap!

Basically I do too. It's easy, simple, stylish, classic, isn't it? Protects your hair, so when down on occasions in good nick.

There are bun variations, like braiding it before; ponytail and a stick thru and spliting tail into 2 and wrapping one clockwise and one anticlockwise round it. French twist. French braid then bun the tail - you can also French braid upside down so you start at the nape of the neck.

Buns can always be spiced up with hair sticks and fancy pins, scarves braided in before bunning...... I have a major weakness for hair toys. (see sources - to name but a few - ebay & Claires good too)

There is no such thing as "normal"--If you like your hair in a bun, keep wearing it that way! Don't be afraid to experiment from time to time though. You can always go back to the bun.

Have fun!

I found a hair in a bun once.... Got my money back. Also, I don't thing you can wear your hair out. It will fall out naturally.

If this style suits you and this is how you prefer to wear your hair I see nothing wrong with it.

Nicole, you are free to do as you please... and THAT is normal. Do you feel comfortable with up? Do you get self-concious when it's down? Perhaps trying new things will help you discover which style makes you feel the best.

Your hair, your style. Otherwise you can follow other people's fashion trend if you don't feel that your style is adequate enough.
