my dog had pups on october 27th.....and they are now almost 4 wks old.....she didnt have much of a problem with this before but she has been peeing a lot.....i mean she will wake me up at 1 am to let her out and when i do i notice that she had peed on my tiled floor ( by the front door) and then i let her back in....and then an hour later @ 2 am she barks for me to let her out again....and low and behold another puddle...WTF.....she is still nursing her pups and she requires more food and water than usual...(to be expected)....but what the hey...why is she peeing on the floor???? and it is only in the middle of the night that she does this.

she is trying to tell you she probably has a bladder infection..I had a cat that looked me square in the eye and peed on the floor..sure enough she had a problem..a bladder stone..this is the only way she can tell you she has a problem..get her to the vet..call the vet on call tonight or tomorrow. Do not make her wait as she could go into kidney failure.

My dog had puppies 4 weeks ago too and she is peeing like crazy too !!!! She use to never pee on the floor but now when i come home from work she has went like 3 times or more all over the floor . I heard that this is because she is drinking so much because she is nursing , and she is drinking water like crazy .

Soak up the pee with a white paper towel- check for blood and the darkness of the urine and dont get disgusted just smell it briefly and see if it smell disgusting--she then has a definite bladder infection/kidney problem and should be taken to a vet ASAP

I really think she may have a urinary tract infection, especially if she is not cleaning up what you think may be from the pups! Most moms always do,but it sounds like she is urgent to go herself!Try to catch some urine, I KNOW-NOT EASY, even a piece of plastic wrap under her butt while she's p'ing. Then get it to the vet. Again NOT EASY!it is really important for her health! GOOD LUCK & CONGRATS on the new ones!!!!!!!!

well the birthing experience could be really trumatic on a dogs bladder. i suggest taking her to the vet for some help. it makes sense that she would only pee on the floor at night when she's not consciously excercising control over her bladder....

bladder infection or a gestational related diabetes mellitus.Maybe her increased hydration needs has created this temporary problem You know what to do. Have a great Thanksgiving.
