male dogs seem to like people better, in general.. and they are much easier to house-train..I live with both genders, in my home..I love them equally, but I believe the males are less independent when it comes to obedience, and they are less moody..Males desire to please their owner more..
for this reason all of the dog actors have been males, even the Lassies were all males..
check out the video at the bottom of this page..there aren't any females excelling in this highly trained sport> http://www.gottadance.landofpuregold.com/

I own a neutered male dog. Besides the fact that he is needy (like most men in any species! LOL), he is super paternal, friendly, smart, and loyal.

I think the biggest diff between males and females is males stop often when they are out on a walk...was yours now its mine theory.

Most people I talk to think that their male dogs are more friendly and loving. I have to agree. I'm sure females can be just as sweet and probably less rowdy, but they can also be bitchier...lol.

female dogs, they understand their owners feelings better than dogs, plus they love and connect more deeply with their owners, to people they know they are friendly and well behaved but can get protective( to the master) around total strangers

honestly? it depends on the dog, it's energy level and how you treat it. I have a male dog who was nutererd early in age, and because i never let him have any question in his mind about who was boss, he is extremely well behaved. both sexes have their advantages and disadvantages if left unaltered. males and females get a little territorial. males will also roam and females in heat have lots of...lets call them suitors. Again once they're fixed, most of the sex-linked behavioral problems go away. Really it's not about the sex but about how they're conditioned.

Generally females are better because they are less likely to roam to look for sex like males. The most aggressive dogs are male due to testosterone levels. Males tend to mark their territory with urine.Females tend to be friendlier but then there are always exceptions. The best dogs to me are fixed.

The choice is all in your hand.If you wanted to have money from the dog's children, buy the female one. But if you want to seek for a friend or your companion, I think it's better for you to buy a male dog.
