in the future there will be a thing called gene therapy (they have it right now but it isnt permanent) so anything is possible.

No, at least not yet. That would be genetic engineering - given the no. of people against GM plants it will be a long time before that can be done on people (if ever). Form a practical point of view, you have a copy of your genes in every cell in your body, so each cell would have to be modified. This could be possible in an embryo (cos there's not many cells), or theoretically it could be done using a virus because these have the ability to alter DNA.

You cannot remove a gene, but with genetic therapy you can change the coding and hence the purpose of a specific gene/genes.

I suppose from a single cell yes and then that gene could be replaced but if you mean from every cell in your body no. However gene therapy is getting closer to a commonplace reality.

Can't be removed but we're working on altering them, I think. Gene therapy?

I definitely don't think we have the technology to remove a gene yet.

well you can cut a piece of gene out of a cell with a restricting enzyme, BUT i don't know if its possible to cut a gene out of every cell in the body, there are quite a lot of them lol
