I agree with you. Another scriptures says that we were created in God's image. That scripture alone tells us a lot. God must have a body of flesh and bone in order for us to be created in his image. Also, if evolution was around, God would and could not have created us in his image, then the bible would be lying.
So, really, Christian's, and everybody else alike, needs to know if the Bible is the word of God.
The truth of something always rings true within your heart and mind, with or without reasoning.
Best thing to do is to pray to the God who inspired the Bible and ask him directly if it's the word of God. Ask him if anything is the word of God or not. If it's not, you won't know it or feel it. But you have to ask sincerelly, knowing God can and will answer.
Read James 1:5

Depending on which Christians you are talking about I know that some Christians dont even believe the Bible is true so there you are so that then obviously means they believe mans ideas rather than what God says in his word The Bible,I am Christian and believe God was the creator of all, as the Bible clearly states! Yes and the Bible is very clear on many things, but the question is why people try to, make it seem ok to do what is against the Bible, but ofcourse that is ok if you don't believe what the bible says is right, then you may be exempt from the responsibility of doing what God tells us to! because of not knowing the truth. But does it really though?(2Thessalonians1:8)

There are many Christians that believe in evolution. Creation and evolution need not be mutually exclusive. If you really want a detailed explanation you might try http://www.theistic-evolution.com .
If you read Genesis 1 it was on the sixth day that God created man and woman. Aminals of the sea, air and land were created before humans.

Every denomination believes it's practices ARE Biblical. From the Jewish perspective, Jesus does not meet the criterion of the Messiah described in the OT. You will note that Jesus was a carpenter, not a king as per prophecy. Therefore according to your own Old Testament literalism Christianity is a false religion.
Those folks who handle snakes as an act of faith believe it's all there in black and white in the Bible. The Amish feel the Bible compels them to go about in a horse and carriage. Mormons figure Jesus was talking about them when he said, "I have flocks you know not of". I could go on, but you get the picture......

STAND ON THE BIBLE!
And when the bible states that the sun stood STILL in the sky (Joshua), it did just that. It's not that the earth stopped moving! The sun stood still
And when Satan tempts Christ, by taking him to a "very high" mountain and showing him all the kingdoms of the earth (which at the time included Mayan (S. America), Mound Builder (N America) and Shang Dynasty in China - this shows that it was a flat earth.
But if you believe the IDEAS OF MAN that show the earth is a globe and moves around the sun, you are damned! And the 12th century says "welcome back!!!"

because some christians actually know a thing or 2 about science and how it works. you should try reading a book or 2 about science.
this question is the same as asking "why dont you believe in the koran when the koran says it is the truth?" you have the right to believe in what you believe and everyone else has a right to believe in what they believe. dont be intolerant to others freedom to believe in whatever they want to believe in. stop believing the world has to fit into your own little box...the world is too big for that.

No Christian would believe in evolution as it is taught as a theory only in many schools. The theory of evolution denies the very existence of the Lord. As for me, I was created in the image of God but the evolutionists can come from monkeys if they want to!

Christian or not, only ignorant fools disregard the science behind evolution.
But let them hide behind a curtain of ignorance, if that comforts them.

The christian bible can be interpreted many different ways, and has been so throughout its history. If you want the bible to support a scientific notion, you can probably find a variety of passages to interpret as supporting it.
If not, then you can probably find just as many to interpret it as not supporting it.
