We know even before christiandom,that people were betrothed with woven rings.The ring is a symbol of endlessness,oneness,respect and unity.It is also the symbol of the sun,moon and earth.The wedding ring e know today came into being about 870ad.That is a gold band as a symbol of purity and endless devotion
