Sounds like growing pains to me. If she gets this pain on and off and when off she has no problems at all it is probably nothing but growing pains. They seem to hurt most at night. I don't suggest the ER unless she continually hurts and it just won't stop then maybe it's something else.

Take her to the doctors they will say its just in her head. Yes it really does exist. It hurts and it keeps you (the person having them) up and waking up in the middle of the night. It's not harmful to the point where it will actually hurt you (your daughter)
As a child i used to get them often. Mom would take me to the doctor and the doctors would try to find another reason as to why I had them (stress, school)
As an adult I have gotten them a few times. Nothing like when i was a kid.
My mom used to rub ben gay on them but not until i was like twelve. Not sure what the age requirements if for ben gay. However do check with the doctor and even if he says it's all in her head it's nothing. Ask him to prescibe or suject something that will make the pain go away. Such as a kids form of ben gay.
If you have ever had a lower back ache. Imagine it all through your legs. That's what it feels like.
She is not being a baby, she is not seeking attention. IT hurts. You don't wake up in the middle of the night crying because of it unless it's real.
Hope this helps.

Sounds like growing pains. I remember hurting terribly from them when I was about 5 y/o. It's a terrible aching in the muscles of the legs that it seems like nothing can relieve. I feel bad for your daughter. Even though it's nothing serious, it is still very painful. I suggest taking her to the Dr and seeing if they have any suggestions for pain relief. Until then, try some Tylenol alternated with Motrin. It will pass but until then, I surely hope that she finds some relief with this. I will keep her in my prayers.

Perhaps she hurt it during play time or her leg is asleep. It wouldn't hurt to take her in and get it looked at to be on the safe side. Never can be too careful with kids, especially when they are your own.

Maybe growing pains. My daughter used to get them all the time at night. We would put a heating pad on it. If it continues or gets worse though take her to the Dr.

My pediatricians both (moved to another state so switched) have told me there is no such medical term as growing pains. They simply just dont exist. If she is complaining so much you need to take her in. She may have something simple as shin splits or something like a stretched tendon or pulled muscle. Take her in at any cost, it is not worth it to watch you daughter suffer.

i believe they are growing pains.
does she want you to rub her legs? or get her medicine? normally kids with growing pains want you to do something to relieve it. if it is an injury they don't want you to touch it for fear it will hurt.
my dr. told me this little tip and it was true in our case. i just gave him some tylenol and then rubbed his legs and applied warm wash clothes.
they didn't last long.
hope she feels better.

It could be muscle cramps. She has not been exercising regularly now is she? Tell her to cut down on nuts and cashews. Peanuts cause this kind of problem.
