I too was in a similar situation and asked a very similar question about 5 months ago but I must say 5 months later we are so happy together! We are in a committed relationship the sex is great!!!! and I couldn't be happier it took some time but I gave him a shot and am so glad I did! Besides which neither of you are getting any younger and being to per-cautious can end you up alone!

be careful, who really knows, but i used to play games with alot of people and hurt many peoples feelings.age is not the issue. there a more things to a good relationship besides sex. I say be yourself take it slow and relax. No is always a better answer that jumping into a sexual relationship that you would end up regretting later. as long as he is not pushing talk it out and slowly let life take shape. Could you see your self growing old and living with him the rest of your life?

He needs closure on the last relationship... the things he's asking for are the things he is missing.. DON'T BE THE REBOUND GIRL.
Sounds like you already have figured this out, I'm impressed, good for you..
If you're interested tell him you will be available when he has healed.. until then you are available as a friend only.
I like the way you think, good luck

long term relationships can take a long time to get over. it also sounds like hes sending all the signals that he is not quite ready for another one. keep him close just in case, but don't push anything. find other people to date maybe you'll find someone even better.

he might honeslty want to know a girl isnt gonna rip his heart out and friendships make the best lasting relationship. don't push to hard or fast for a commitment and if you don't want to sleep with him then dont you can just hang out and be friends.. i know a lot of guys who like having female friends

I totally agree with eddi. Don't get pushy and don't assume things, if he just broke up then he does need someone to kick it with right? heh, but during the first few times you guys kick it, don't give it up. "keep ya head up, legs closed, eyes open."

Talk to him about it or you'll end up hurt.
he may just need that friend and if you are getting serious you will hurt him as well.
