On the subject, Buddha also spoke about what he called "the four noble truths". Two of then subjects that sorrows have a cause and a cure, and then he talked about 8 steps that most be taken to end sorrows. The magical word that he subjected could be described as liberation, but liberation from what or who ?; hate, ignorance, superstitions and prejudice come to mind as mayor sources of sufferings. Buddha's words are, may be, to esoteric a prune to be miss interpreted or not understood at all. Kant ideas on the values of things will give us a mayor clue for a part of the cure we're looking for. If we realice that we're affected in part not by things appart from us but rather by what we think and believe about them, then we could be half way on the quest to end sorrows.
