It's gonna be 4 hour car ride.My munchkins are 4 and 2.Do you have any ideas how to keep them entertained .I am thinking small games and coloring books.We don't have a dvd player in the car.Any other ideas would be helpful.Thank you.

CD'S or tapes with children's sing alongs are popular with my grandson. They will fall asleep shortly-so just play & sing along!

Small games and coloring books are a great idea. Make sure you have plenty of snacks and water.
If you are travelling during their nap time, you can give them some dramamine and they will sleep through the whole thing.
4 hours is really not that bad. I've done 6 with just me and my daughter (who's 3) and she did just fine. The car ride was followed by two planes and a taxi. That was a long day!

I have a 2 and 4 year old brother.
We have been on 4hr. long trips as well.
It didn't take much to keep them entertained.
But, here r some suggestions:
-play games like (if u see a... yellow car yell... Greg, from the Wiggles) and I spy, etc.
-books *with pictures of course*
-make sure to make a stop or two(let them stretch and run around a bit)
-They may nap during the trip also.
well, that is all the advice i have to give.

Yes board games and toys would do. Bring some snacks for them to eat. Don't worry about the 4 hour trip, your children will eventually fall asleep within 2 hours.

I agree with coloring books and activity books. But we're talking about 4 hours and most kids (especially in that age range) are not very willing to sit that long. I would invest in a portable dvd player stat. Believe me...you'll be glad you did.

what i do is---everyone picks a color, and count all the cars that are that color and keep score. the winner gets a dollar or small treat---ofcourse the other will get something too but it keeps em occupied.
