I am making sweet potato casserole and I could not find and pecans. Will walnuts carmelize with brown sugar the same as pecans for the toppings on my casserole??

Yes walnuts will behave the same way as pecans will, and it will look and taste much the same also.

Pecans and walnuts are interchangeable in recipes. I couldn't find walnuts for a recipe so I'm using pecans. Walnuts will be fine in your sweet potato casserole.
