If you have the funds, pay it before the closing of the billing cycle this mean BEFORE the activity is reported to the credit bureaus., that way you keep your current interest rate from becoming a delinquent default APR and avoid a over the limit fee.

There's a few different things that can happen. Your purchase can be denied or your purchase can be accepted and you will be charged an overlimit fee. By using a large portion of your available funds, you credit score could drop temporarily since you are using more of your available credit. People think that if they pay their bill on-time, their credit usage ratio will not be affected since the bill was paid on time; usually though, the amount the cc company reports to the bureaus is the same amount they report to you on your monthly bill.

An overlimit fee may be given to you in the billing cycle in which the limit exceeded your current allowable limit. After that fee, it's hard to keep up on your bill sometimes. Try to keep it down under the limit and your payments on time and you'll be fine.

call your credit card company and discuss your options with them. most cc companies will give you a break the first time this happens--if you call them and simply ask. you could ask them to just waive the over limit fee and tell them you will pay x amount or if your history with them is very good, they may be willing to increase your limit. go for it. the worst they could say is no.

Don't forget that your credit score is going to take a hit as well. Try to get your balance down to less than 50% of your available credit limit ASAP.

They take your first born. Pay it on-line asap. If they add an over limit fee, call and ask if they can remove it, especially if it's the first time and have a history of paying on-time.

They will charge you for 'over-limit' draft fee and they might increase your APR. They also require you to make your balance equal to your credit limit or below your credit limit.

The credit card companies love that. That's another way they make money.
They will fee you to death and increase your interest rate.
