Dear Advisor,
First let me say i'm sorry for your loss.
In terms of knowing whether your Uncle is in heaven or not--- this is a matter that is between him and the Lord. As you said you weren't sure if he knew what he was doing when he prayed with the preacher. If he was sincere- He is with the Lord this moment--- only the Lord knows.
One thing you can do though is know where you will be going for sure. The Scriptures teach us much about how we can know that we have a relationship with God. i know as you've shared that you haven't always lived the life of a believer- but this can be a good time to start. Get plugged into a church and Bible study and begin to grow in God.
The Bible does not teach there is a purgatory. Purgatory is not biblical because the Bible teaches that we make to heaven based on our faith in Christ and if we believe in Christ we make it on he merit of His work on the cross and His righteousness and not our own. Purgatory suggests that it's up to our good works and we can work our way out of purgatory into heaven. It's not a Biblical idea.
Biblically if we've accepted Jesus our souls go to be with the Lord.
I'm not sure what it was that you sensed after your Uncle passed away but please also know that there are demonic forces at work in the world as well so instead of believing what you think, feel (and are not certain of). Base your faith on something you can be sure on-- God's word --- The Bible!
Praying for you.
Hope that helps,
Nickster

God knows the heart, and Romans 2:12-15 says we're judged according to what we know. God is a fair judge, he wouldn't judge someone on something if they never had a chance to learn it. It's like Job asks "shall mortal man be more just than God?"
Biblically death is reverse creation, in the beginning we're made of dust and the breath of life, when combined make a living soul. Ecclesiastes 12:7 says death is our bodies turning back into dust and the breath of life goes back to God who gave it, and we cease to live as a soul. We sleep, until God returns the breath to us and resurrects us.
This is why, as long as a person or animal is breathing, it still has a chance to live.

The Bible doesn't answer all our questions about life after death—but it does tell us very clearly that that when we die we go immediately into the presence of the Lord if we know Christ. Paul's great hope was "to be away from the body and at home with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).
How is this possible? It's possible for one reason: Jesus Christ paid the full penalty for our sins. You see, when He died on the cross, all of our sins—not some of them, but all of them—were transferred to Him. He was sinless, but He willingly took the punishment you and I deserve. The Bible puts it this way: "God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God" (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Let me illustrate it this way. Suppose you went to the bank and borrowed a large sum of money to buy a house. As long as you owed that debt, the house wouldn't really be yours, and you'd have to keep on paying. But then suppose someone came along and paid off your debt. Would you keep on making payments to the bank? No, of course not—because the debt had already been cancelled.
In a far greater way, we are all guilty before God, and our sins have created a debt to Him we can never repay—never. But listen: Jesus Christ has already paid it—completely and fully! The debt has been cancelled! Why fear death any longer? Instead, put your faith and trust in Christ today.
You should not worry; the Bible clearly teaches that if we know Christ, we are safely in God's hands forever when we die, and that nothing "in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 8:39).
Does this mean we immediately enter heaven when we die? My own study of the Bible has convinced me that we do. This is reflected in many passages in the Bible. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies" (John 11:25). The Apostle Paul wrote, "I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far" (Philippians 1:23). The Bible also says, "Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands" (2 Corinthians 5:1).
We need to remember, however, one additional truth: At the end of this present age, God will reunite our souls and our bodies. In fact, we will be given new bodies—bodies that will be similar to Christ's body after His resurrection. They will never experience illness or pain, and they will never grow old.
Take comfort in the fact that your uncle is now safely beyond all the pain and dangers of this life, and she now dwells in God's presence forever. And this cane be your destiny too, and the destiny of every person who truly trusts Christ for their salvation

First off, I'm sorry about your loss.
I believe he is in Heaven. If he was saved just before death, no matter what sickness he has, G-d's grace is sufficent for him.
I also feel there is no evidence for purgatory/waiting room. There is evidence for the other option. When Jesus was on the cross and the theif next to Him accepted him, Jesus said "this day you will be with me in paradise"
Think about that. This day. He did not say next year or next week. Thats the Bible telling us that our last breath here is our first breath there. Your uncle is in Heaven, sister.
Bless you
David

The one thing that holds true no matter what is that energy doesn't just exist then not exist - it transforms into something else-always. I think a part of the soul remain attached which is why our memories are so important. Your memories hold a 'mold' for him and his life - to be visited and enjoyed by both of you.
My condolences for your loss.

My dear, I am so terribly sorry to hear of your loved one.....
According to Scripture,
the breath goeth forth and thoughts perish.....
That last breath is the spirit that the body contained....
the body, itself, is a temple (1 Corinthians 6:19)....... It houses that spirit, or breath of life which God breathed into it since the beginning of time (Genesis 2:7)........
Once the breath of life is gone, the cells of the body begin to break down cell by cell.... because life is gone out of him.... that breath is life...... that life is the spirit that lived in the man...... (Job 33:4)........
Now, every spirit, which is the life of the man, must return unto God.....(Ecclesiastes 12:7)
As God abides in heaven (Deuteronomy 4:39, Psalm 11:4), it is not possible that a spirit cannot go to heaven......
There may be two sides of heaven as Christ is the light of it... (Revelation 21:23) and not all men may know him in this life.... so when they enter, they may be on the dark side.....
Only God knows the "darkness" inside the heart of a man.....
therefore, no one can say what side your uncle may have entered.....
But, he is there.... Yes.... He is in heaven.... as you have witnessed his breath go forth!!!!!!
One day, heaven will be emptied for the sake of judgement and your uncle will return for that great and terrible day...... (Revelation 20:12)..... and the story of his life shall be read aloud to God.......
then, shall we all, who are saved, shall be included in the anthology of the "book of life"..... It is a history of all of the "books" or stories of individual men who have ever lived shall be written.....
Your sister,
Ginger

You don't know. No one knows but God.
When people die, they enter their eternal home, be it with God or apart from him. There is no purgatory. People's souls do not stay here with us.
The only comfort I can provide you is to say this: God created this world, and nothing that belongs to him can or will be lost. He is a just and loving God. He knows your uncle's heart, and will judge him with perfect justice.
I suggest that you seek the living God. Develop a relationship with him yourself, that you may come to better know him. This will provide you--in time--with answers to your many questions.

i imagine it ability we are meant to respect the moral knowledge and preparation of our moms (and/or our better halves, or grandmas, whoever the moms are contained in the family contributors and contained in the community), as they are in various of circumstances the time-honored shaper of a youngster's coming up moral knowledge and for this reason will be determinant in no matter if a touch baby at her ft will grow to be an human being who's destined for heaven or who would no longer make it. regrettably, some moms in immediately's international have abdicated this duty (I stay contained in the West, in united statesa., the position many parents have abdicated duty in practise morality to their children, and in reality, many actively educate their children to be dishonest, selfish, and unjust to others) and so i don't think of each and every mom will make it to heaven only for being a mom. by ways, what makes one a "qualified pupil"? And, the hadith tale Tru Blu tells is exciting. It demonstrates the unwillingness of adult men to respect and pay interest to women, even even as a Holy Prophet himself says it really is going to be finished!!! the guy does no longer settle for actuality from Muhammad, yet refused the answer till Muhammad ultimately gave in to inform the guy what he already believed and wasn't keen to modify his conception in no keep in mind that Allah wanted for him to finish that. i ask your self what different truths would were rejected because they did not in high quality condition the male expectation that Allah exists to aggrandize the male ego and make women subservient to adult men. Edit: Gehenna, no, as I say, i'm an American. I actually have purely talked with regard to the revolting anti-Christian anti-moral habit of my usa and phone it for what it really is.

Honestly...nobody knows. And its not for us or anyone to say he went to hell or heaven. God is the ultimate judge and he chooses weather we live or die go to hell or heaven and someone might say he was a bad person and went to hell but how do they know? only god knows the heart and soul thus he alone chooses. And when you die you soul goes back to your creator for judgment then your soul goes to where god sends you.
I am sorry to hear about your uncle. -God dose everything for a purpose and a reason
