no you dont have to! tons of people in my advanced ballet class cant even do the splits. so dont worry about it... ballet is so fun you dont have to do the splits. and if yuo work at it you will be able to!

If you practice ballet long enough, you will easily be able to do the splits. Along with balance and grace, strength and flexibility are required to perform ballet with an acceptable level of proficiency. It's much harder than it appears.

It's best if you can because you can be more flexable and graceful, but there are other things that you can practice. Stretches are very good for ballet and dancing. It is best if you listen and flow along to the music...get it? OK.

I would say yes but not the splits necessarily just the action that needs the flexibility of doing the splits...u got that?

Well yah,
I'm a broadway dancer. And i do a lot of the broadway disneyland show. Like i'm Jazmine in Disneys Allidan broadway shoe. In fact i better hurry got to zip over to magic kingdom. I mean i'm in Floridia Gotta catch the bus. GOOD LUCK!

most dance instructers say that if you are over the age of 6 and you cant do the splits you are obviously not a good dancer so you would have to check with a dance instructer

Yeah, I would think so. If you're just starting out, you might want to take some time practicing so that you won't hurt yourself. because people who do ballet seem really flexible and limber.
