there are so many varients that its impossible to predict without knowing your caloric intake, weight, amount of exercise and so on. Atkins really isnt a good diet though because you exclude a whole food group. Just eat a low fat diet but keep the carbs. The weight lost from atkins diet is usually a lot of water weight and that is easily put back on. I guess if you must lose weight for 5 weeks its not gonna hurt you. But everything in moderation and plenty of exercise would probably work better for the long run.

It varies upon how much you weigh, but if you follow that, you should lose a decent amount of weight.
Okay, I just have to say this. I think the Atkins diet is VERY unhealthy...you are cutting out carbs, but you are adding in pretty much ALL fat. I just don't support the Atkins diet. My boy friend is a bodybuilder and is a very big fitness enthusiast so I learn a lot from him. Eating meals that are balanced in macronutrients (carbs, proteins, etc) are the best thing to do. The reason why a lot of people gain so much weight following the Atkins diet is because their bodies have literally become SO used to them not consuming any carbs that when they do, they instantly gain back a crap load of weight.
If this diet doesn't work out for you, I strongly recommend Weight Watchers.

It depends on whether you do "old" Atkins or "new" Atkins.
The new version allows sugar alcohols and fiber subtraction, not to mention all of their products. People are under the impression that as long as they count 20 carbs they're fine. Not so. Sugar alcohols are metabolized fully and must be counted. A 3 "net" carb protein bar is actually 20-25 carbs.
This is why people complain about Atkins and that it "doesn't work". Calories count and many people make the mistake of thinking they can eat all they want of approved foods. Not so.
This is why I developed the Kimkins diet. Low cal, low carb, no products, no fancy math -- just fast weight loss. Really fast.
No one can predict how much you will lose because it depends on how much you weigh and whether you do the 1000 calorie version of Atkins or the 2500 calorie version. With "net" carbs or without? With premade food items or without?
Good luck and good job taking that first step!

I would guess 25-30 lbs..............Vacation??? where are you going??
You will probably lose 15 lbs the first two weeks and then it will drop to 2-3/week.When you first go carb free you will feel differently.Light headed shaky, cranky, kind of jittery at times. Drink lots of water and eat non-carb food often. This should only last the first week to 10 days then you will feel grest because your blood sugar will be regulated.
As you exercise and gain muscle mass you will burn more calories. The trade off is muscle weighs more than fat . Besides focusing on how much weight you could lose focus on toning your body and losing clothing sizes.
Alternate your work outs. One day cardio and one day weight training. If you belong to a gym if they offer Power flex group classes try one. They are fun and will work out every major muscle group and kick your butt into shape.
Cardio days alternate different activities so you don't get bored
A trainer once told me more than 1 hour in the gym is too much! you will burn out if you start to spend hours in a gym. One hour of intense working out per day will do when you are starting out.
Don't forget to drink lots of water, I mean Lot's of water especially while you are working out..........above all have fun!!

Probably about 40 pounds. Since the Atkins diet causes you to lose weight faster you need to do Cardio and something like Pilates to tone you up as you lose weight.

I think you'll lose about 35 - 45 lbs. However, the problem you are going to have is when you get off the Diet you will quickly gain most of that back because you'll go back to eatting some of the stuff you've cut out of your diet. Also a way to get past that is be very strict on yourself not to go back to your old eatting ways and keep on with the excersizing. Good Luck!

In the mood for a new hot meal? Make a huge pot of veggie bean soups, divide into two-cup containers, and store inside the freezer. Before bed, place a container in the fridge, then grab it before heading out the door every day.
