My dog got into a fight with another dog this fternoon. Nothing serious and it was broken up quickly, but my dog sustained a couple of nicks to the edges of his ear. It bled quite a bit but once it stopped I applied a spray on bandage, which didn't work. I then put on regular band-aids, but he keeps shaking his head and making the nicks bleed! What should I do?

He is vaccinated for Rabies and it isn't serious enough to justify a trip to the vet, unless it doesn't heal or starts to look infected.

Put a very light touch of vaseline on his ear, then apply a bit of flour. It should cake and stop the bleeding.. If you have chamomile tea, or sleepy-time tea, you can mix it with dog food or other meat, and feed a spoon of it, to help him relax and sleep, so the blood can clot good..

ears tend to bleed really bad, try dipping it in baby powder or flour
that will stop the bleeding and probably not cause him to shake his head anymore
my doberman had cancer but we did not know it at the time, she did something to her ears and they both started bleeding at the tips during the night (she always slept with me) when I woke up the next morning EVERYTHING in my room was splattered with blood, I didn't think I would ever get it all cleaned up!

Try liquid bandage....its a superglue type of product used as an alternative to stitches...

Do you know why your dog is attacking other dogs? I assure you that it is not the dogs fault. The dog is unstable because you are not fulfilling the dogs needs. I'll go as far as to put my money on the fact that you treat your dog like a person when in reality a dog is a just happy being a dog. When you give a dog to a stupid excited person that does not know the first about dog, like yourself, this is what happen to dog. Do yourself a favor and do some research and ask yourself " Why is my dog unstable and attacking other dogs?"

P.S. Here is a hint:.....Your dog will be ready to move on from any issues it's having when you are ready.......(Kinda of like when you dock a Rottweiler's tail, they move. Dog live in the now....)

Unless his ears are actually split, leave them scab. They will be fine.

***PINCH*** it shut until it stops. That's IT!!!

The more you dink around w/it,the more the dog will be bothered.
