I think it is more about "doing what you wish" tahn worshipping anything.

Satanism is **NOT** the same as "Devil Worship" - most satanists are not inherently evil - this is born out of ignorance that satnism and devil worship are synonymous.

And no, I practice neither but like you, felt the need to find out a little truth behind the rumour and the ignorance.

Alesiter Crowly was something of an advocate of such things - and did not exactly help give a positive reputation. The gist being "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law" IIRC

There are 2 types of Satanism. Traditional Satanism(theistic) worship Satan, However Modern Satanism does not worship a supernatural god, instead you are your own god. Every man or woman is a star.

Basically the Self, and the gratification of the Self.

http://www.xeper.org - Temple of Set (offshoot of CoS)

From Xeper.org:

The Satanic religion proposes to raise the individual to personal godhood, free from enslavement to any other “God” [or gods]. Unfortunately this is a question not just of power, but also of ethics, morality, and psychological maturity. The Church of Satan’s initial prescriptions - as outlined in LaVey’s 1969 book The Satanic Bible - were used by some as a basis for metaphysical growth, but by others as merely an excuse for egoistic irresponsibility.

Not satan EXACTLY. Satanists believe in their own selves. Meaning they are their own gods and they give into material desires and humanistic qualities. They believe they should satisfy their ego and step on anyone in their way. Instead of turning the other cheek on an enemy, they get revenge. If someone is nice to them, they are equally as nice back. message me if you'd like more info. I like to study the occults.

They worship themselves, pretty much. You can read the wikipedia article on satanism for more information. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satanism

They talk about how they have been condemned by the christian hypocritical majority.....then they laugh and tell jokes about the dead christ...then they make smores. You'd have to be an idiot to worship Satan......to worship satan is to believe in God....don't you get it yet?

Gratvol...hit the nail right on the head.....look how it makes you act, you Christians who have condemned me!
