THIS IS A REAL QUESTION PLEASE BE SERIOUS
ok, so i have a 9 week old kitten, and she does the weirdest things.
when i sleep, she tries to crawl into my mouth, head first...
i know that kittens like to brush up against you, for affection, but this is beyond a joke.
a friend told me that cats have a sensitive area in their cheeks, thats why they head butt things, because it feels good, almost sensual for them.
i always thought it was a sign of cat/human affection or ownership....
if this is true about cats and their sensitive, arousing cheeks.... could this be why she is trying to climb into my mouth??

cats headbutt as a sign of affection. it is a greeting reserved for those in the cats "family" or inner-circle of friends.
cats rub their cheeks on things because they have sebaceous glands (oil-secreting glands) located on their cheeks. they mark their property and each other with their distinctive smell. i'm sure it is quite a complement to a cat when you exchange scents with him/her by rubbing their cheeks. (they have another scent/oil gland located directly in front of their tail.)
your cat is pushing her head into your mouth because she's a weirdo. wish i could meet her. i bet she is a real character.

You ave what we would call a nce, normal and healthy kitty ^_^ Our Kittens would go crazy in the litter box, flailing, jumping, rolling.. then with their water and food, they'd have it a mess, but give it about another few weeks or so and he probably won't be doing it anymore. He's just curious about alot of this stuff he can feel and see, and that's just about how every baby of every species is. Just wait until you get a Christmas Tree, you'll probably have to scold him for climbing it so he doesn't get hurt, but he'll understand his boundaries soon enough. He shouldn't be so active when he gets older(he may be a little lazier), but if he gets worse, take him to a vet to see if he may not have Obsessive compulsive disorder or a kitty A.D.D..... My one cat now(tidus) is kind of facinated with our new fish tank, so he likes to paw at the tank and stare at it for a long time... He's just curious.. Goodluck can congrats on the kitty!!

well, i know with my animals that they like to look in my ears and my mouth too. It could be wot u had eaten, or your tooth-paist. i think that all little creatures are courious because they have just came into the would. i would not blame it, when you were little im shure that you wanted to see new things maby things that shouldent be seen or go into coubards that shouldent be opend.
its just the kitten acting normal, although if it is irratating you should start to set boundaries and say NO. it also could be that there is water ( in her eyes) in there and she wants it. it is a good idea to set your limits when there young otherwise they can continue to do that as they get older and that when it starts to become a problem.

the mouth thing is probably just her being curious. some cats just do that kind of thing. i had a cat that used to "share" her food with me when i was sleeping. so i got to learn what some cat foods taste like. as for the check rubbing. she is being affectionate and she is marking her territory. cats have glands in thier checks that put thier sent on you.

I'm not sure, but my kitten used to do that too. He would stick his nose into my mouth and lick the inside of my mouth! It was very gross. But as he grew up, he seemed to grow out of it. He is 7.5 months old now, and only occasionally tries to lick my lips, but I just push him away gently and he stops.

cats cheeks aren't sensual lol.. thats where there scenting galnds are, they are leaving there mark, there sent on you. Wild cats such as tigers do this on trees and stuff to let other tigers know that it's claimed territory. You're being 'claimed'
:)

YES IT IS NORMAL FOR A KITTEN TO DO THAT, SHE/ HE IS LOOKING FOR A WARM SECURE PLACE AND SHE MIGHT SMELL FOOD OR MILK IN UR MOUTH. THAT IS ONE REASON THEY SAY NOT TO HAVE CATS WHEN THERE IS A NEW BABY AROUND.AS FAR AS THE CHEEK THING, NEVER HEARD OF THT, INTERESTING THO.

Go to Walgreens and buy yourself a nightguard. It's basically a mouthguard meant for sleeping. That'll leave no room in your mouth.

When a cat needs you attention it needs you attention. That's cats. I had one that used to put her face right up close to mine when I was just drifting off to sleep and meow really loudly. That was always amusing.
