Christians have no right to do this. They think they have all of the answers and people from other cultures are stupid. Look how the Native Americans got screwed out of their land and forced to convert to Christianity. Christians don't have respect for other people's cultures and beliefs. I wish to see in the future that Christian invaders will be kicked out of Buddhist lands.

Religious intolerance has its roots in exclusivity - believing that only one religion can offer salvation and that the only alternative to salvation is hell. The exclusivist can only see other religions as evil i.e. leading to hell, and thus intolerable. While the Buddha clearly taught that Nirvana can be realised only by practising the Noble Eightfold Path, he did not believe that the only alternative to this goal was hell.
As most higher religions promote values like honesty, kindness, generosity, courage and integrity, Buddhism sees them not as dangerous competitors but as allies in man's quest for liberation.

If you were a Buddhist at your heart, you would not speak as you do. They renounce violence, and believe that everything that happens is correct and happens for the right reason.

As someone who had Budhism in her heart, my reply to the issue is that God will resolve it with reason. He already conveyed the Concept of "Rational Spirituality", in February 2006, which confirms the correctness of many of the fundamental beliefs of Buddhism, whilst not supporting the Christian dogma.

Rational Spirituality, available on the Dhaxem website, had already become the thinking person's new bible. Sooner than most believe, it will replace the religions with the sheer weight of its logic. Then, it will become apparent that Buddhism, that learned about the Universe and the Divine from within, was out of all the beliefs, closest to the Truth.

That will be a much greater victory for Buddhism, than could be the kicking of anyone by anyone else.

The entire history of human kind consists of kicking, and so far, it led nowhere!

You may not like my answer, but hopefully it will help you to get things into a perspective.

Dear Ramond,

First let me say that as a Christian, some of the areas in the world that are most Buddhist are also areas of the world who have benefitted from Christianity. Many countries such as those in Southeast Asia suffer from issues such as teenage prostitution, and exploitation of children and many Christian organizations have come in and helped out.

Christians are not going into Buddhist countries and forcing people to become a certain religion. There are many things done in the name of Christ that are not Christ-like and it is not fair to attibute that to Christianity because it's not true Christianity (as in your example with the native Americans-- i say this as a pastor who runs a ministry which supports Native Americans). i will also say that people have a freedom to accept/reject Christianity. When i was in Thailand i visited a temple where people worshipped monkeys, i felt so deeply compelled to share with them that this was not the proper way to worship God. Does that make me disrespectful??? i acted out of a love and compassion. Sharing is not infrinigng on anybody's freedom

Also although i am Christian from what i've learned about Buddhist beliefs-- isn't Christianity another way to "enlightenment", and doesn't everybody's karma catch up to them in the "next life"?

i can tell you that for the Christian life is about being like Jesus. And nobody showed more respect for people than Jesus. Hope that helps.

Kindly,

Nickster

Christians have a mandate(a commandment if you will) to preach the Gospel to all Creatures, no matter where they are. This commandment has never been rescinded nor shall it be. Not only do Christians missionaries go all over the globe, but now 58 satelites beam the gospel around the globe 24/7. The devil doesn't even get a coffee break anymore.

missionaries go everywhere.... they've been attempting to convert Muslims in they own countries for yrs. the church that i was made to go to (i was raised Buddhist but the rest of my family was Christian so the made me go to church) explained that this was a very important part of the Christian faith... making sure that everyone in the world had been approached with Christianity.

**the frustrating part is that they make it seem as though your religion is not good enough instead of just allowing for peace

**the best way to spread any religion is by being a good example of it and not by force or persuasion

peace to all

Wow! An angry Buddist. Well, Buddists are coming into the U.S. Should we kick them out because they are invading the U.S?

No, if the Buddist religion is about tolerance, why are you not willing to allow a Christian in your country? But yet Christians are accepting that Buddists are here in the U.S.?

Either you are a troll or have forgotten tolerance.

They arent there to kill them... jeeze... Christians were told by their Leader.. Jesus to take the Gospel to the whole world, not only the ones who dont have another religion. If the Buddhist doesnt want the Gospel, he is free to reject it.
