Surely LOVE is the issue, not sex. Sex without love is just stimulating nerve endings, scratching an itch. It's the carrot and stick nature provided all animals to make us have babies.

Love and sex, well that's different. That's beauty and joy and enriching and empowering, no matter who it's between (providing they are consenting adults of course) - irrespective of gender, religion, etc.

So where do religions get off telling us who we can and can't love?

Religions came from people and people are free to say whatever they choose. I am also free to choose to listen to, to ignore, or to speak my truth to them.

I am free to live my truth and love whomever I will. I refuse to be judged by churches, mosques etc.

Any church that judges you is wrong. God is the one and only righteous judge. If someone else is doing the judgement, it is tainted by thier own sins and is, therefore, not worth listening to.

However, God Himself tells us that sex is only beautiful, enriching, and empowering if it is within the confines of marriage.

P.S. It's okay for you to love everyone....you don't necessarily have to have sex with them all though.

Not sure.

A friend of mine, who is one of the Best Christians I ever met, got into a Born Again Group and wanted to marry this girl and the house leader forbid it and told him he wasn't ready yet.

He left them over that issue, married her, had children and got a very good job, bought them a house and stayed with her until the day she died. That was at least 25 years if not 30 years.

In my view he proved the "church" wrong.

Churches should not be telling you who to love other than to love God above all. Churches only have one mission and that is to bring you to God. Jesus didn't teach that you had to be perfect to recieve Him. Churches were never meant to be the watchdog of America. If you belong to God, He will punish you if you get out of line. You are His child. If you don't belong to God, then you are not His child and not His to punish. It is between you and Him, churches are just supposed to be telling you how to get to Him if that is where you want to be.

Most religions are all about conform and control!
When they should concentrate more on love, peace & tolerance!
