Don't put it in the fridge. My mom says thats a big no no. She wraps them up and puts them in the microwave or oven. They do just fine.

Lots of cakes do just fine to sit on the counter, but here is a tip for a frosted cake: you can poke a few tooth picks on the top and sides of the cake to keep the saran wrap off the icing:)
You might notice that people place cakes in cake stands to be served, and even frosted tehy sit in there all day, but once you get past 36 hours on the "shelf", they will go stale.

If your cakes are not decorated yet cover and put in the refrigerator or leave out on the counter covered. Wedding cakes are always best to bake them ahead of time anyway. Even putting them in the freezer uncover for a short time, makes icing easy, no crumbs in the icing. If your cakes are decorated put them in the refrigerator. If you have a cake holder/cover leave them them out on the counter. If the icing has milk in it refrigerate it.

The way I do it is to put them in the refrigerator... the cake stays preserved inside but dont leave it in there for to long... like about more then 25 hours or youll get a weird aftertaste when you eat the cake

Saran wrap, counter.
The saran wrap will keep them from drying out.

DONT PUT IT IN THE FRIGE, just wrap it up tight so no ants can get in and leave it on the counter, cause in the frige will certainly dry them out.

Depends on the cake. some are fine to refrigerate, and if they have cream cheese or whipped cream icing, will need refrigeration.
