Ettiquette just is not taught anymore. The parents are not doing their job in raising their children on how to act in public. Then when they are adults, they don't know how to teach their kids. It's a vicious cycle. One that I doubt ends any time soon. So sad.

A lot of people are failing to teach their kids proper table manners. In a world where both parents have to work, or many single parents, a lot of them don't even get to eat dinner together anymore. I let my son start before others because he is only 2 and they can't really wait, but he has already learned to say excuse me when he wants to leave the table.

Because they are hungry.
If it's about the saying grace thing, at the Last Supper Jesus may not have done his thing until after the supper.
I personally think if people tear into my meal and keep eating, it means I did well with the meal. That's what it's there for.
Most Thanksgiving dinners come LATE in the afternoon and they smell all the foods. Let them scarf it up!

some dont know, some dont think it matters, some think its an akward waste of time waiting with an empty plate for others to finish, and some are just plain hungry.
not everyone can be bothered waiting on the minor details, theres more important things at the moment than table manners, like whoever's sitting opposite em.

Hungar & poor manners. Whoever the hostess is in my family puts out cheese ball & crackers, cashews & usually one other item so we can munch before dinner. Munch is the keyword here; it's never ruined anyone's appetite & no one is starving when they sit down to eat all at the same time.

I think waiting is polite and common sense. I did not know that letting your food be taken away was rude, but now that I think about it, it makes since. Good thing I am only 14 and have never been on a date :D

parents attempt to install morals in kids and the kids get mad and leave. the problem is that the parents have stopped dragging them back to reality. instead of teaching them not to kiss on the first date they say "i tried and failed i just let them do what they want now." where has this world gone. my grandma would beat the snot outta me if i did any sort of rude thing to a girl on a date.
problem is they just have soft parents!
