If “twitching” involves muscle spasms in eyelids, the condition very likely is related to your nervous system. For example, it is theorized that “eye twitches” involving these muscles can be related to emotional stress or physical eye strain—i.e., staring at a computer all day.

Eye twitching of this type usually is transitory and not considered serious. The official name for involuntary muscle twitching near the eye is called blepharospasm, which (according to Neurology published by the American Academy of Neurology) can have triggers such as irritants including smoke or bright light.

More severe forms of involuntary eyelid flutters can actually be blinding. Botulinum toxin injections (Botox) that deaden nerves and eliminate involuntary muscle spasms are considered the treatment of choice for more severe blepharospasm.

If the eye itself twitches, a much more serious problem could be an underlying condition.

Two things automatically pop into my head you either have a tick which can be permanent or just last for short periods of time or something stressful is going on inyour life and is causing you to have this reaction. You can limit the options down yourself but if it is a tick then ask a physician what you can do to make it better.

Try a vitamin B complex....it is good for nerves. The twitching is caused by a nerve. Nothing really to worry about but it is distracting.

It could be from lack of sleep. That happens to me whenever I haven't slept much.
