Anyone know why my 2 yr old female jackarat (jack russle & Rat terrier) keeps trying to mount my 7 month yr old male tabby?? It is really wierd and when you try and get her to quit she gets Maaaad.

While I agree that this HAD to be absolutely hilarious the first few times it happened, I do agree that this is a dominance thing. Because (I assume) that your 2 yr old dog was there long before the 7 month old cat, this is your dog's way of saying 'hey, this is MY house.' When you get done laughing, nip it in the bud, regardless to how angry the dog gets.

It's a dominance thing. She thinks she's the boss. You should immediately stop this behavior and put her in her place. YOU need to be the boss, even if you're laughing because it's so ridiculous.

hey my female dog does the same thing to my male cat and shes older too! i just stop her and scold her cuz i mean come on that is not nice behavior!

my minpin (female) does this to our huge tomcat! this really ruffles his dignity!
