Having childen is a full time job!It takes alot of energy ,time, and patience. Some children take naps, but not when they are older 3 or 4 they stop .Sometimes if you lay down every day your used to that routine. You have to get out of your pajamas, take a shower ,drink lots of water ,and I heard this over and over exersice. It seems impossible to even take time for yourself ,but if you try youll feel better ,release stress and sleep better.Get up every day at the same time and go to bed every day at the same time. After about a week your body will get used to it.Staying up late seems like so much fun .I used to do it to because that was the only quiet time I got. Then the next day all I wanted to do was go back to bed all day.Try to just stay up late one night a week to reward yourself!

How late do you go to sleep? It could be a matter of shifting your schedule around.
Do you drink lots of liquids with caffine in them to keep up with your kids? It's recommended to cut off your intake of caffine beyond a certain point in the late afternoon.
Are you rushing around to get your kids in bed? All that physical effort might be waking you up.
Do you have a routine for going to bed? Ie, some winding down time, soft music, light reading? Setting a routine helps.
Do you do any kind of work in your room? Even things like balancing checkbooks can make you associate your bedroom with work/stress. Try not to do any work in the room you sleep.
Are you on the computer late at night? The light from the screen could be signalling you to stay awake.
Maybe you just need a day or two off from your kids. Take a breather. Good luck!

I think any busy parent has a hard time shutting down at night and our mind thinks of a hundred things that need to be done. Try non-presciption herbs or of course a warm non-caffeinated drink before bed or do like I do and think monotonous thoughts (I count backwards from 100, say the alphabet backwards in my mind and so on.) If it doesn't get better, you can always consider a sleeping pill. Good luck!

I try to use my bedroom only for sleeping (no reading etc) and have a routine I go through before I go to bed. It helps me slow down after the rushing of the day and trains my body to know that ht bedroom is for sleeping. It works, most of the time!

well in the morning you might be tired beacause you know there are many things to do and all your stress goes together.at night your not tired because you've been going up and down all day or you are always thinking about something like something thats worrying you.thats my opinion but maybe you should talk to a doctor.

Try taking some valerian root...works for me. It doesn't make you feel drugged, but it helps relax your mind a bit.
