I believe that the energy that we send out (thoughts, words, actions) come back to us in some form. And if we send out negativity, it will come back. Ditto for positive things.
I don't believe in the Buddhist or Hindu concept of Karma, which is tied into reincarnation and progressing through stages of rebirth, because my beliefs in the afterlife and reincarnation don't mesh with them.

As a buddhist I believe in Karma. Many of the answers given above lack the understanding of the concept or the working of karma.
Karma is an impersonal, natural law that operates in accordance with our actions. It is a law in itself and does not have any law-giver.Karma operates in its own field without the intervention of an external, independent, ruling agent!
Karma can be put in the simple language of the child:do good and good will come to you, now,or hereafter.Do bad and bad will come to you, now,or hereafter.
In the language of science, karma is called the law of cause and effect:every cause has an effect.
In its ultimate sense, karma(good and bad) means, mental action or volition.'Karma is volition' says the BUDDHA.Thus karma is not an entity but a process, action, energy and force.

1. Hindu believes that present suffering is due to past life karma but it has not been proved by scince or spiritul/religious leaders. 2. So concept of Karma in the context of Hindu religion is yet to be proved .
3. As per general understanding we may see " If you are putting your hand in fire , it will burn just now ' so in the case of our doing on day to day basis also affects our life same time but we have not developed the sence to visualize it though its final effects are seen by us in long run of life but we are not able to correlate it .

No. I believe that if someone hurts you , they will suffer for it, and that is sad. We do know that anything we do in this life which wrongs others we have to make up for. Karma is just bad slang! We have to stop meeting like this!

No I believe in sin and punishment for sin. I believe that good works when done in the name of God will be rewarded likewise. It's not karma. It's God's law.
