We were sitting at dinner and i was like look i have nice calves and he said "yeah like tree trunks" and i was really hurt by what he said. and then he kept telling me how he was kidding and that i was so beautiful. but i cant help but be upset. I KNOW he was kidding. i know he was but it still hurt. Is there a way i can tell him that it really hurt my feelings?

tell him "that really hurt my feelings." let him know it was deeper than a simple "just kidding" can erase. After that, relax. He probably just heard that clever little comment somewhere and was just waiting for an excuse to use it. Boys are dumb. He didn't think before he said it. And he thought it would be funny... even though it wasn't.

Tell him that he must have felt this was true at some point to have said it. Tell him that it really hurt you that he would even think that for even a second. Good luck. I don't agree with Chicky's answer. If he did hear it somewhere and thought it was funny, then he entertained the thought that hey this applies to my gf. Again not funny if it hurt or offends you.

just be optimistic, you know trees can be pretty beautiful, i just love walking through the woods, and the trunk of a tree is often compared to ones caves, just because they both help provide stability for the rest of the structure...

I think he already knows, however, the sad truth is the real world is a lot meaner than that, and you need to grow some thick skin if you are going to make it without having your feelings hurt everyday.

I'd just get over it if I were you. And besides, why did you randomly say you had nice calves? That's seriously asking for a teasing response, since you're kinda flaunting yourself. Eh, just get over it.

Wow, extremely? To me, you're breathtakingly attractive... IDK the place you're boyfriend is coming from, yet i could ask him if he extremely meant what he pronounced, and it seems such as you have already. sometimes my acquaintances will say something impolite, yet they are extremely only joking and that they do no longer propose it. countless adult adult males jokingly insult their acquaintances, yet only out of relaxing, you be attentive to? It feels like it extremely is the case inclusive of your boyfriend. If he cried over it, i think of he substitute into unhappy which you have been indignant over his remark. i do no longer think of he meant to offend you. Ask him to be sure! So what's the next step? After talking to him approximately it, if he repetitively makes disparaging comments approximately you in any way, then locate yet another guy, honey! there are countless adult adult males who'd die to be in a relationship with you. hahaha, and wager what? it may be his loss, no longer yours! only have confidence your self, and experience him out.

He shouldn't really say that.

Tell him straight up, make him grovel a bit, make him feel a bit bad then forgive him. Enjoy making him feel bad too ;) You girlies are quite good @ that.
