According to the "projection theory", we developed religion out of a need to defend ourselves against the crushing superior forces of nature. As a child needs a father for protection, so we feel the need to create a protector God.

Pat: It isn't a "test." I just like to ask objective but not terribly obvious trivia-like questions about religion, atheism, and related subjects.

Christianity is what keeps to be of the religion re-purposed and politicised by utilising the Roman Empire in the 4th century advert. How plenty resemblance it bears to the unique Christianity practised by utilising Jesus' followers in the 1st century is complicated to confirm. Too little info, different than the coverage that some doctoring of the disciples' artwork passed off. The Bible as used in the present day is a "theatrical decrease" disbursed by utilising Roman clergy. The books and memories they chosen to comprise are what now drives the prominent ideals of Christians regardless of denomination. Christian splinters such simply by fact the Nestorians and Arians which branched away until now instruct fantastically categories of worship suggesting that if Christianity had not been interfered with by utilising state and throne, it ought to correctly have more suitable a thoroughly distinctive direction.

I think that was Sigmund Freud. I'll have to double check. Why the test?

Edit: After I read your post that it wasn't Freud, I been doing some background reading on google. I can't answer your question, but I would like to say that sometimes it is nice to be right and sometimes it is nice to be wrong.

I have no idea who said that. I am not as well-read, as some people are.

However, It was stated by another author that God smiles the most when a person realizes that they have no need for God.
(not an exact quote....but the implication is there).

God just is....no opinion or faith is required. No religion can crush the superior force of Nature's God.

Religion is nothing but a fixed conformity to Spiritualism.

Spiritual wisdom can't be put into solid substance so religion was established to at least represent and mirror these wisdom in the form of rituals, prayers, etc. Unfortunately, religious followers start to see religions as the true pathway to God.

We develop religions because we need to believe in something and not to let us go to the forces of evil which are deep inside us.... Believing is a way to deny the devil...And look well in History, the greatest evil men were apostates, like Hitler and Stalin....

You are entitled to your beliefs, and I am entitled to mine, I did not have to invent God he invented me, and I believe that Fathers are born with the instinct to be Fathers because God put the instinct there..... I think people simply have a problem with submitting.
