We are not only in a battle in Iraq and Afghanistan. We are in a battle for the heart and soul of our country as we speak. Fewer and fewer people are alive today who have experienced the real fear of the possibility that we can as a nation cease to exist.
That was a very real fear in WW II.
Those who have never faced this fear do not truly understand what types of sacrifices must be made by those who are free to keep this freedom. We are facing the most dangerous threat to the future of the civilized world that I believe the world has EVER seen. The goal of radical Islam is TOTAL world domination and a worldwide Islamic society under Sharia law. It will take the sacrifices and dedication of men like we saw on this video to turn back that tide. It will also require that citizens of the USA stand united behind our military men and be willing to authorize and accept any and all necessary actions against this goal.
We must do ANYTHING that is necessary to halt the spread of RADICAL ISLAM. I promise you the followers of RADICAL ISLAM have dedicated themselves to do whatever is necessary to take our liberty and freedom.

Sorry I do not see these guys as heroes. While I surely do not wish any ill will towards any of them, I hope they all can come hope healthy. But they are doing a job, a job they volunteered for at that. It is unfortunate that the current commander in chief has chosen to use them as a political and financial tool for himself and his friends. Democracy is not something you can force down peoples throats. I would have thought we would have learned that lesson from Korea and Vietnam and a few others.

I think you are in the wrong section. The one thing I do not understand is how do you force someone to be free.
Most of the Iraqis fighting are fighting because they want freedom from American involvement.
Others are fighting because there is a power vacuum in Iraq and want to gain control. This power vacuum will continue until the US gets serious about the war and sends in the right number of troops, or pulls out.

haha, i like the first one, freedom is not free. but neither is geopolitical power struggles. this one cost us 650,000+ lives, and 2 million displaced refugees.
get off your armchair mentality, and see the world for exactly what it is. with those billions of dollars spent in iraq, we could have been half-way to a clean fusion power, and fixing the coming enviromental catastrophe. instead we insist on fighting foreign wars to perpetuate a over-inflated services economy.
This thanksgiving im most thankfull to the voters who finally realized things were wrong.

Thank you for sharing! My husband is one of our HEROES! Our men and women who are serving in our Armed Forces should be commended for the humanity, and compassion that still shines through even in the face of adversity. It takes a very courageous person to even do the job they are sent to do, but to have compassion in the midst of all of it makes them very special
people indeed!
