You should only allow your child to have these drinks.Soda, and sugar drinks are not good for your child. For the constipation you can give your child a children's laxative or suppository.Start adding fiber to your child's diet and make water drinking mandatory.Try it will flavored water at first like water sensations. There in packets then dilute it.Have your child pick out fluoridated bottled water at the store when you go.I have 2 girls ages 3 and 5. I have never allowed them to have soda on a everyday basis. They have it as a reward, holiday, or special occasion but they still know that it tastes better.( and my parents sneak it to them)lol. The more you enforce this, the less of a struggle it will be.My kids went through that thinking I would give in.There just testing.Stick to it, cause it works.Adding fiber really helps.Hope this helps your situation.

Try watermelon and grapefruit...fruits. Or you could have your child pick out their own special cup at the store. It might motivate them to drink from it. Just make sure they pic the cup out. Or have you tried the tiny juice boxes? Sometimes that makes the juice more exciting to the child. Or play a game... "Every three bites of dinner you take you take a sip of water." Do it with your child..that way you are a model and they feel like they are playing a game with mommy.

You could ad a drop of food coloring to the water and pretend it is super hero power juice (or whatever your child would relate to)

First I even might want to say that I agree- 3 months is purely too youthful truly for rice cereal. How commonly is she feeding? it really is common for a toddler that age to feed as a lot as each and every 2 hours. although in case you ought to provide cereal then that's my answer: Water became the purely element that worked with my first son (even as he became 6 months and time-honored starting up solids). With my 2d, he does no longer drink water so I had to provide him a baby's laxative some circumstances an afternoon till he were given a touch older and his bowels were mature adequate to handle good ingredients extra useful. I saved attempting water with him besides each day till he would drink it from a bottle or sippy cup and this truly helped too.

What about just giving your child ice cubes. Kids unusually like to suck on ice and maybe you can even freeze up the juice or get Popsicle molds to freeze the juice or water. I'm sure your kid will be happy to get one thinking it's just a treat. I used to not want to eat at all when I was a child and my parents just thought of clever fun ways to get me too and eventually I began to eat as normal. I'm sure eventually thirsty will kick in and the little tyke will start drinking as normal.

Nothing beats plain water. you can show/tell your kid that his favourite hero/cartoon also drinks lot of water to keep him active. that because of waer and juices he is so strong .....
give it in a glass/bottle with lot of pictures of what he loves the most.(it is a little effort ) beating or shouting can only make hime drink for that moment. You can soak raisins and squeeze out the raisins and give hime that water sure way to beat constipation. you can add a dash of honey along with lemon to the water and give it to him.

Observe him to see why he dislikes water/juices. are you giving more than he can drink. start with 20ml-50ml. instead of 100-250ml.

Hope this hleps.

What kind of juices does he like? He has to like something so give him what he likes, maybe strawberries, fruits he likes too. I would take the juices and make popsickles for him, you can get the little maker things at dollar stores. Make them and offer him a popsickle, you can add a little ice cream to the juice too to make a creamsickle, he's young and won't know the difference and think he's got something cool.

Do you give him tap water or bottled water?

Personally I can't stand tap water, only spring water.

Are there NO juices he likes?

What about Koolaid? I mix it with about twice as much water and 1/2 to 1/3 the amount of sugar when I can't handle water. It has vitamin C so it isn't the end of the world nutritionally (but it is close).

Feed him "wet" foods, soups, jello, sauces, fruits, etc.

Another thought, I am going to assume you are formula feeding. Why not just water down his formula for now? Make sure he is getting enough but add 25%-50% more water.

Try giving more fibre to your child in the form of Dalia(broken wheat), fresh fruits, salads, green vegetables and less refined food like Maida products, junk food and chocolates. Juice in any case will not help as it does not contain fibre but drinking water will definitely help your 4 yr. old.
Try interesting recipes and include as much above mentioned things in his diet.

Give lots of juicy things that the child likes to ensure that sufficient water content is received by the body.Include fibrous matter like whole wheat bread slices laced with his/her favourite jams or squashes. That will ensure smooth evacuation.
