I just returned from Kroger's. I asked a worker there about defrosting a turkey. He said to place it in cold water. Allow 30 minutes per pound. For example, if it is a 20 pound turkey, then you would need to let it sit in cold water for 10 hours. By cold water, I mean cold out of the faucet.

The best way to defrost a turkey is to take the turkey out the night before you are going to use it put it on a plant and leave it in the fridge Or you can put it in the microwave but the best way is to do what it says on the packet
may God bless you

Not the fastest but the safest way is in the refrigerator. Its like 2-3 lbs of thaw per day. So look at the weight tag on the bird and divide it by 2 or 3 and thats about how many days it takes in the refrigerator to thaw a frozen bird.

Put it in a sink full of very cold water, but might take overnight to defrost

in a bath of luke warm water. not warm cause that causes salmonella, just luke warm! hope this helps. Ps...It usually takes like 24 hours atleast this way. Last ditch effort I would microwave perhaps on defrost if its a little bird, or a big zapper! Good Luck

Cold running water.
I won't recommend warm water, because I think it will reduce the freshness of the turkey.
