Some basic rules that will hopefully show what leading by example means:
1) Never ask anyone to do anything that you are not prepared to do yourself. This doesn't mean that you have to do all your own photocopying, but it helps if you show willing by chipping in at busy times.
2) Be there to give advice. Always be open to questions. If you are busy, say so and suggest a time when you can talk.
3) Be slow to blame. If there is a blame culture, people will bury their mistakes. If you say, "This didn't work too well, I wonder how we can make it work better next time?" then people will be open when things go wrong and the whole team will have a culture of improvement.
4) Encourage openness and honesty, partly through being slow to blame, partly by being available to give advice, but most of all by being truthful yourself.
5) Find out what motivates your colleagues and try to help them. For a boss, it might be promotion - see what you can do to get him/her promoted (this is often the best way to get promotion yourself!). For a subordinate, it may be more interesting work - try to find a special project that would relieve the boredom. Some people have no particular motivations at work except the salary - they just want to turn up and do their job and go home at night without being harrassed to go on training courses or whatever - you need to accept that what works for some doesn't work for all.
Sounds as if you have already thought about it a great deal, so hopefully some of this rings true. Good luck!

The supervisors I have appreciated the most have been those who treated their employees with respect & not like children even if they act like children.
A good leader learns to listen to complaints calmly even if the employee has gone emotional on him and responds to the issue not the manner in which it is presented.
A good leader takes care of problems & doesn't ignore them even if the task at hand is difficult. A good leader doesn't tell one employee to work out differences with another employee; that's one of the reasons you are there....to act as an intermediary between employees when needed.
To be a fair leader which isn't always easy particularly if you dislike an employee.
To get rid of people who bring down morale or who miss a lot of work or are incompetent & create extra work for other employee's.
To ask for input when appropriate; a good leader would know when that is. Employees are eager to find a way of getting a job done in the most efficient manner not the hardest.

There are many things that you can do. It is good that you are considerate enough to think of this. I think most workers like to have the opportunity to have some input into decisions. As well, it is important to praise people for a job well done. Another essential of leadership is to give constructive criticism - to help a worker correct a mistake without tearing down their self-esteem. Also everyone enjoys a treat now and then - whatever is appropriate in your office environment - whether it be breakfast snacks, a lunch to celebrate a milestone in a worker's life or a card on their birthday. Good luck on everything.

often i believe the best leaders are the ones that will never quit. if they have some down time and a subordinate is still working they go help them out. a leader will never make someone do something they would not do them self. last but not least a good leader not only knows the difference between right and wrong they stay far away from the wrong side. integrity to your subordinates will make them feel as though they are needed.

To be a good colleague and a leader at work, you must be ready to carry every one along. Delegate assignments and allow people to use their initiatives. Do not be a boss, seek the opinion of others in decision making processes.

Be human! Don't expect others to do something you can't or won't or haven't done in the past yourself:) Let them know you appreciate their support and overlook the odd minor mistake. The fact you care enough to ask about probably means you are doing OK!
good Luck:)

i'd search for legal advice from a solicitor. maximum provide a million/2- a million hour free first consultation. Ask them what is going to be finished. it really is Harassment and the actual incontrovertible actuality that someone has despatched a textual content message is extra information of the topic. tell your pal to save the textual content message and do not delete it. it would want to become sensible later. also you pal might want to attempt going better as a lot as extra senior administration, clarify the reactions from her superiors that she has received. it would want to help. i became subject to bullying contained in the workplace and extremely a lot sympathise such as your pal. it really is amazingly demoralising. If the bully is going to go away presently, what about taking a even as out, eg vacation or in case you want to work out a doctor as she might want to correctly be depressed.

To be a good supervisor/leader you only have to do four things.
1. listen to their concerns, complaints and suggestions.
2. Talk to them, send out concise and clear messages.
3. Respect them, never belittle, talk down to, berate, or talk down to, or mistreat.
4.Expect responsibility, hold them responsible for the work they do and the way they behave.
These are the tools to be a good supervisor, from low turnover to high morale, to high productivity.

Do routine work with a smile. No matter how close your deadline, when they ask a question, listen attentively and answer with patience even if they have asked it before. Let no task be below you, even if it isn't in your job description. If they appear stressed, offer to assist them. Respect them, let them make mistakes, stand up for them, praise their achievements, never gossip.
