Do Not Stress the Cheese Cloth: Cheesecloth is an outdated way of cooking the stuffing for easy removal from the bird-it isn't really a necessity. You can use a canvas or plastic cooking bag for the same purpose. You can use an oven bag or even a good paper bag to insulate the entire bird if that is the purpose just substitute. If you are determined every commercial grocer has it as do cooking stores and some fabric stores it ranges from $1 a yard to $6 you decide if it's worth it.

Cheesecloth - a coarse, loosely woven cotton gauze - was named that because it was originally used for wrapping up cheese. Cheesecloth clothes with their semi opaque quality were ideal for the hippy peasant tops and flouncy maxi skirts in the 70s. It's a really nice cool material to wear in summer and doesn't need much ironing!

Forget the cheesecloth! I tried that 2 years ago from Martha Stewart.com and went crazy looking for one on Thanksgiving eve. It turned out to be a waste of time. We had two turkeys, I made one and my sister in law made one w/o the cheesecloth. Hers came better. She cooked hers in a turkey bag. Look on allrecipes.com for great ideas to cook turkeys. Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving. By the way I did find it in a major grocery store.

yes, you can use a t shirt but i would suggest a white or off white one. A new shop towel works OK too. To get a real cheesecloth you would need to visit a kitchen store. Baste about every 30 minutes or so.

One question mark after every question gets the point across just fine.
I found them at the hardware store also. There was a lot in the package for maybe $2 something.

They might have it at a regular grocery store, ask the store manager. I know that they have it at craft stores like Joann Fabrics. But you might have a hard time since they'll be closed tomorrow. Try stores like Target, Kmart and Walmart. They might be open tomorrow. I know that Kmart is.
