The General has really cheap insurance. I found that you need to pay the 6-month premium, though. If you pay month-to-month, they send the bills late sometimes and it screws you up... and they send you a cancellation notice! What a crock. If you can afford to pay the entire 6-month bill at once, it's a good deal. I wouldn't recommend them if you have to pay monthly, though. It's a hassle.

You have to shop around. Nobody's recommendation here is worth the paper it's printed on.
A bad driving record is not synonymous with low rates. Good luck shopping.
